Cool feature alert!
The latest IBM API Connect V10.0.3.0 provides a simplified approach for developers to rapidly develop and test their APIs within the new API Editor.
The API Test preferences is the one stop control for how and where you want to test your APIs.
Developers are no longer confined to test their APIs using the Sandbox catalog. They can choose a specific catalog to test APIs. This gets better as developers can choose specific gateway services to continue testing APIs. The flexibility is extended to product, plan and application as well. The subscription will be created automatically for you. The settings are persisted per browser session, which means different APIs can be tested with the same preferences in that session without having to set them every time.
To learn more about the API Test preferences, check out our Knowledge Center documentation in here.
To edit the API Test preferences, edit your API.
Click the setting icon to open Preferences. Initially, the default settings are displayed.
You can then configure the preferences for the following catalog, gateway and application.
Click Save preferences when done and activate API.
Product is published and Subscription is created automatically.
With the same preferences you can also test from the Gateway Test Tool (previous known as Assembly Test Tool)
You can also quickly test In Explorer with the same preferences.
In summary, API Test Preference is a great feature in APIConnect version 1.0.3.0. To learn about other new features, check out what is new in latest release.
